Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask 2026 Release

The Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask 2026 Release brings together two of the distillerys most important influences: sherry-seasoned American oak and sherry-seasoned European oak. Every cask selected for the expression has spent its entire maturation period of at least 18 years in sherry-seasoned oak, with the casks seasoned in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.

The two oak types give the whisky its distinctive balance. American oak contributes vanilla, fresh fruit and a softer sweetness, while European oak provides dried fruit, warming spice and greater structure. The result is a richer and more mature interpretation of The Macallan Double Cask style, with toffee, sultanas, candied citrus, ginger and toasted oak running through the whisky.

Released annually, the 2026 edition is bottled at 43% ABV and presented at natural colour. For collectors, it also represents a clearly identifiable annual release from one of The Macallan's core age-statement ranges rather than a no-age-statement special edition. Nose: Dried fruits and toffee lead into candied citrus peel, ginger and nutmeg. Palate: Raisins, sultanas and dried apricot layered with treacle toffee and vanilla, followed by ginger, baked apple and toasted wood spice.
